Rant…

When people are criticised a common response to said criticism is that ‘I can say what I want, I have a right to an opinion. Freedom of speech and a right to an opinion does not mean that one is above criticism. Just because one has (and should have within appropriate confines) the right to express whatever opinion one wishes this does not entail that this expressed opinion cannot be criticised. The right to say whatever one wants is inexorably linked to the right for people to critique what one says.
